THE LION - SYMBOL OF THE MONTH Quite a number of people sent us dreams of lions over the last month, prompting us to use this as the symbol of the month. When dreaming of a lion, it is important to distinguish whether you experience the lion in a positive manner or in a negative way. In the Bible the lion is used allegorically and symbolically in several ways. Powerful leader:- For example, a lion can be regarded as a powerful person such as a prince [royalty, dominion], a powerful person [leader], or someone in authority (Zeph 3:3, Ez 19:5, Prov 20:2) or who is ready for the battle against the enemy [determined, courageous] (1 Chron 12:8), or who does not give up on a deal until he has convinced his opponent (Job 10:16). Boldness and courage (Prov 28:1). Jesus, the Lion of Judah:- A golden lion, or if you experience the lion in a positive manner, can refer to Jesus the King as represented by the Lion of Judah (Rev 5:5, Ez 10:20, Ez 1:5-10) and victory in Christ (Rev 4:4, Rev 3:18). Spiritual blindness:- A black lion can point to spiritual blindness, representing someone with sin, ignorance, unbelief, state of spiritual blindness, darkened understanding in his life, taking pleasure in the ways of sin and wickedness, liars (1 John 1:7). Impatient person:- An old lion can point to pride, hindrance to improvement (Rom 1:30, Ez 28:2, Ps 10:4, Hos 7:10, Prov 26:12) and a hardened heart (Dan 5:20; Jer 17:9). It can also refer to the presence of a foul spirit, frightful and solitary (Is 13:21, Is 34:14, Jer 50:39, Ps 74:19) or an aggressive and impatient person (Ps 17:12), harsh and prone to tearing others apart with cutting and ripping words (Ps 22:13). Spirit of satan:- It can refer to the fierce and destructive nature of satan (John 10:10, 1 Pet 5:8) or someone who wants to destroy the followers of God (Ez 22:25, Prov 28:15) a wicked ruler (Prov 28:15, Ez 32:2), who is proud and haughty (Job 28:8). It can also be a warning that an enemy is setting a trap for you [lying in wait] (Hos 13:7). Freemasonry:- It can also be a warning of freemasonry in a person’s life where the lion is seen as a gatekeeper [as presented in Freemasonry] (Prov 10:10), someone who is preventing the Word of God to be preached (Ps 10:9). DREAM OF THE MONTH Someone sent us the following dream of a lion. She dreamt that she was standing on the back of a vehicle with her family. Her husband and six year old son got off and walked through a shallow river towards a lion. The lion attacked her husband and severely damaged his right arm. She took a rifle, jumped off the vehicle and ran towards them to assist but had difficulty to get through a crowd of people in a building. When using the weapon, the bullets had no effect. The dream ends with her husband in hospital with a baby lying on his chest. Even though his arm is damaged, he insists on keeping the baby with him. In this dream, there are three symbols that stand out clearly: One – The aggressive lion, which is symbolic of someone who wants to destroy the followers of God (Ez 22:25, Prov 28:15), or her husband in this case. It can also refer to a wicked ruler (Prov 28:15, Ez 32:2) or a wicked boss. Two – The rifle that refers to the instrument of deliverance, or the mouth or words of the righteous (Is 49:2). The bullets or arrows [words] of God are the apprehensions of His wrath. It pierces the conscience and pains the receiver (Job 6:4, Ps 38:2). Three – The baby points to change in his business or ministry, to a passing from one state or form to another, one thing replacing another (Gen 32:5) or a change of seasons, a journey, or a change of scene or scenery. It is to turn, to change, to exchange, to be altered, to alter and to renew, e.g. a change of mind (Hab 1:11), of name (2 King 24:17), of day and night (Job 17:12), times and seasons (Dan 2:21) or behavior. Interpretation:- This seems to be a spiritual dream with a prophetic message. The lion (satan the destroyer) attacks the man’s right arm (representing spiritual strength and authority) in order to undermine him. His wife can see how he is being ripped apart, but her words of defence (the rifle and bullets) does not have any power or effect to help out in the situation. The dream ends with a powerful promise, that even though he is badly hurt and his authority and spiritual strength tested to the limit, God will bring a change and do something new in his life, something close to his heart that will be an inheritance for him.
